Choose to learn from your desk or build community (and lower the cost per person) by inviting a group of co-workers to learn with you (e.g., around a computer monitor in an office or in a conference room setting). Hosting a webinar is also a great way to connect with colleagues from other institutions in your area! Please note: beyond a group experience, you will not be able to share your username and password with multiple people for simultaneous use.

Fellowships
AAM and the AAM Standing Professional Committees (SPC) are pleased to offer a limited number of fellowships to qualified individual AAM and SPC members for the Straight Talk: Museums Rising to the Financial Challenge webinar series on March 18 and 19, 2009. Fellowships are offered by these SPCs:

  • Development and Membership Committee (DAM) for the Fundraising in Financially Challenging Times webinar (March 18)
  • Museum Management Committee (MMC) for the Downsizing and Retrenchment webinar (March 18) or the Managing People in Tough Times webinar (March 19)
  • PR and Marketing Committee (PRAM) for the Making Every Dollar Count: Communications in Economically Challenging Times webinar (March 19)
  • Small Museum Administrators Committee (SMAC-AAM) for each of the four webinars

Each SPC fellowship recipient will receive one complimentary $89 registration to one session of the webinar series. At the discretion of the fellow, this fellowship may be used to offset the cost of the full webinar series ($169). Deadline for fellowship applications is Friday, February 20, 2009. Award notifications will be made by Friday, March 6.

Online Forum
The web conference learning experience will be extended using the Museums Rising to the Financial Challenge Forum (also known as the “Survival Forum”) on the AAM website, exclusively for registrants, presenters and AAM members. The forum will serve as an information and entry portal for web conference participants. Reminder: The forum is accessible only to AAM members and web conference registrants.
