Inhalation: Irritating to the nose, mouth, throat, and lungs. May cause respiratory tract irritation with shortness of breath, wheezing, choking, or chest pain. Asthma and respiratory and cardiovascular diseases may be aggravated by exposure. Eye Contact: Can cause severe irritation and/or burns. Direct contact may cause impairment of vision and corneal damage. Skin Contact: Can cause severe irritation and/or burns. Ingestion: Irritation and/or burns due to hypochlorite can occur to the entire gastrointestinal tract, characterized by nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, bleeding, and/or ulceration. The inert base (marble chips), if ingested by small children could cause choking by airway obstruction. Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure: Asthma and respiratory and cardiovascular diseases may be aggravated by exposure.

As a hazardous solid waste, must be disposed of in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations in a permitted hazardous waste treatment, storage and disposal facility.
