The First Meeting of the Latin American Chapter of the International Patient Organisation for Primary Immunodeficiencies (IPOPI) will take place on October 16-17 2009 and the First Meeting of the Latin American Society for Primary Immunodeficiencies (LASID) on October 15-17 2009 at Cartagena de Indias, Columbia.

1. Intravenous immunoglobulin has been reinstated on the “Model List of Essential Medicines”. See the link: http://mednet3.who.int/EMLib/
    
2. Subcutaneous Immunoglobulin has, as of October 2007, been added to the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines for Children, alongside Intravenous and Intramuscular Immunoglobulin. See the link: http://www.who.int/medicines/publications/essentialmedicines/en/index.html
    
3. IPOPI has become a member of the Global Collaboration for Blood Safety (GCBS) as of December 2007
