MLA-NLM Personal Health Record (PHR) Project

A joint MLA-NLM Task Force was commissioned to assess opportunities for integration of live and virtual information assistance into electronic personal health records products. MedlinePlus Now with Multilingual Enhancement

As of today May 7, 2008, MedlinePlus® has a multilingual feature, providing access to high quality health information in languages other than English and Spanish. This new service benefits people who prefer to read consumer health information in their native language. It also helps the information professionals and health care providers who serve them. NLM’s Disaster Information Management Research Center

The National Library of Medicine (NLM) is pleased to announce a new web resource about its Disaster Information Management Research Center (DIMRC). The DIMRC web site seeks to provide access to quality disaster health information at all stages of preparedness, response, mitigation, and recovery. Initially, the site will focus on NLM and NLM-supported resources and activities. It will then expand to include other sources of authoritative disaster health information. (more…)

NLM Gateway Redesigned

A redesigned version of the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM) Gateway, based on two rounds of usability testing, went live on Monday, March 10, 2008. Gateway allows users to search simultaneously in multiple retrieval systems at NLM. Visit the new Gateway homepage at: http://gateway.nlm.nih.gov/.

New Women’s Health Resources from NLM

A new Web resource providing scientists and consumers with the latest information on significant topics in women’s health research from scientific journals and other peer-reviewed sources is now available through the National Library of Medicine (NLM). The NLM Division of Specialized Information Services, Office of Outreach and Special Populations has partnered with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Research on Women’s Health (ORWH) to create this one-stop resource.
