"How to transform information in action in HIV/AIDS prevention".

OBJECTIVES: Measure adolescents information/knowledge on HIV/AIDS prevention. evaluate sexual behavior and drug use in those adolescents. determine constrains and obstacles for safer sex in those adolescents. METHODOLOGY: As part of workshops on Sexuality and HIV/AIDS prevention activity we organized for adolescents (13-19) attending media school in different cities in Argentina, we evaluate knowledge vs. sexual behavior in order to know which are the principal constrains and obstacles for sexual prevention and drug use risks knew by them to be transform in safer sex practices and no drug use. All those analysis were done related to age, sex, socioeconomic status, residence and sexual initiation. RESULTS: The most important constrains and obstacles found were: lack and wrong information, high numbers of partners, sexual behaviors transmitted by other adolescents or young men rejecting the use of condoms, the lack of ability to speak with partners about sex, and others related to social and economic poverty conditions.
