"HIV/AIDS: inner city youth/black gay and bisexual men--exposing connections for our work"?

Credle J, Morrow-Hall G; International Conference on AIDS.

Int Conf AIDS. 1992 Jul 19-24; 8: 207 (abstract no. PuD 9048).

Rutgers University-Newark Campus, New Jersey.

ISSUES ADDRESSED: HIV/AIDS education and prevention issues targeting two major at risk groups inner city youth (planned parenthood of Essex County) and black gay and bisexual men (National Task Force on AIDS Prevention-San Francisco, California). PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Using survey results and examples from day to day activities, we will discuss similarities and differences in our work with these populations. RESULTS: There are dominant trends and shared information useful in devising helpful strategies that address sexual behavior issues for each group. LESSONS LEARNED: Cooperatively sharing learning experiences while working with distinct populations within subgroups is a useful tool in providing effective responses to HIV/AIDS education and prevention programs for inner city youth and black gay and bisexual men.
