Common Late Effects of Childhood Cancer by Body System
Added text to state that studies suggest that dexrazoxane is safe and does not interfere with chemotherapeutic efficacy. There is a single-study experience suggesting that there could be an increase in malignancies when mulitple topoisomerase inhibitors are administered in close proximity; however, at this time, this should not preclude treatment with dexrazoxane (cited Tebbi and Cvetkovic as references 146 and 147, respectively).
