Help Small Businesses by Cutting Red-Tape |

We should not forget that small businesses, not just large corporations, are hurting in the bad economy. Congress needs to step up and protect small businesses. One thing that Congress can do right now is cut down on all the red tape and burdensome regulations that the federal government places on small businesses.
Small businesses create 7 out of every 10 new jobs in this country. Yet instead of making it easier for our small businesses to meet payroll and create jobs, the federal government is often an obstacle. Small businesses owners should be able to spend their time growing their businesses or have the opportunity to spend a rare night at home with their families. Instead, they are forced to spend countless hours dealing with all the paperwork and regulations that the federal government requires. For a small business with less than twenty employees, it cost approximately $7,000 per employee in regulatory costs.
The federal government should be a partner for small businesses, not a hindrance. By cutting down on unnecessary red-tape we can help our small business owners get back work and grow their businesses and create jobs.
It is not going to be Wall Street or Washington that will lead our economy back. It will be the small businesses all across northwest Missouri and all across this country that will revive our economy. Congress must be a help and not a hindrance. That starts with cutting back on unnecessary red tape. |
