Abstract

The Burger King Cancer Caring Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people diagnosed with cancer. Since 1988, we have provided support to their families and friends who are coping with the emotional impact of cancer. The following services are provided to our clients: Individual Professional Counseling, Telephone Helpline, Support Groups, Wellness Support Groups, Support Services for Children, Community Resource Referrals, Live Well with Cancer Programs, and a Resource Library covering such topics as, Relaxation Techniques, Coping with Anger, Nutrition, Anxiety, Stress Management, and Bereavement. We also offer Workshops of various, current issues. We have 12 sites for Support Groups. All services are free. Funding is provided by Heinz USA, Coca-Cola, corporate and private foundations, memorials, and individual gifts.
