Search Field Descriptions

In this module, you will learn how to instruct PubMed to search terms in specific fields using search field tags (also known as qualifiers).

You can also instruct PubMed to search terms in specific fields using the Limits and Preview/Index features.

Reminders:

  • Boolean operators -- AND, OR, NOT -- must be entered in uppercase letters.
  • Boolean operators are processed from left to right.
  • Use parentheses to nest terms together so they will be processed as a unit and then incorporated into the overall strategy.
