Then, it's a quick cut to Mitch's (Hank Azaria) hectic life as a sports columnist cum television host and his long-term relationship. When Mitch learns his beloved professor is dying, he reconnects with his mentor and learns from him all over again -- this time, about life.

As they save lives using innovative methods, the reality of their social differences looms overhead.

Reed must inoculate the criminals and anyone with whom they've come into contact, without causing widespread pandemonium. Barbara Bel Geddes also stars.
