Thank you for visiting the PCOS Twin Study website. This site should answer many of the questions you have about PCOS and about this study.

The PCOS Twin Study is sponsored by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. The NIEHS is studying polycystic ovary syndrome in twins to find out if it is caused by genetics or the environment or a combination of both. Once scientists know more about the causes of PCOS, then health care professionals can then treat it more effectively or possibly lower the chance that a woman will develop it.
