Eligibility Requirements

Priority will be given to individuals who fit one of the following categories:

  1. Recent COMPLETION OF A DOCTORATE (within past 2 years) and seeking to pursue further research using behavioral and social intervention research.
  2. Two or more years since completion of a doctorate and substantial work (e.g., pilot study) toward preparation of a grant proposal using behavioral and social intervention research.
  3. Experienced intervention researchers seeking to expand their expertise.

Beyond these eligibility criteria we are seeking researchers who plan to develop NIH R03 or R21 grant applications involving behavioral and social intervention research in response to PA-06-082 or PA-06-083: Research on Social Work Practice and Concepts in Health. Those who have extensive research experience will be considered after more junior investigators have been evaluated. While we will consider and may even accept “exceptional” applicants who do not meet these criteria, priority will go to those who do.

Due to the limited number of spaces in the course, applicants must be U.S. citizens or non-citizen nationals who must have been lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence (i.e., possess a currently valid Alien Registration Receipt Card I-551, or other legal verification of such status). Women, minorities, and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
