Recent Graduates

Among the student participants in NIGMS' minority programs who received degrees recently are:

  • Barry University: Former MBRS undergraduate Dania Alarcon-Vargas earned a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences from the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York City in November 2003 and is now a postdoctoral fellow at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY.

    Former MBRS undergraduate student Stephanie Bingham earned a Ph.D. in developmental neuroscience from the University of Missouri in December 2003 and is now a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Miami School of Medicine.

    Former MARC undergraduate student Lisan Parker earned a Ph.D. in pharmacology from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, in September 2003. She is now a postdoctoral fellow at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
     
  • University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff: Former MBRS program participant Sederick Rice earned a Ph.D. in cellular and molecular biology from the University of Vermont in 2003 and is now a postdoctoral fellow at the Environmental Protection Agency's National Center for Environmental Assessment.
