Exposure may occur during the application and curing of epoxy resins; [LaDou, p. 508] |
Comments |
Glycidyl ethers are synthesized from epichlorohydrin and an alcohol. The presence of the epoxide ring makes them reactive and useful in epoxy resin systems. These chemicals often cause occupational allergic contact dermatitis. They have low vapor pressures, but can cause respiratory sensitivity especially if they are heated during the curing phase. Members of this group include phenyl glycidyl ether and diglycidyl ether. [LaDou, p. 508] |
