The purpose of this Notice is to inform the research community of a change in the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) numbers assigned to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK). Effective 11/14/2008, NIDDK has consolidated its programs into one CFDA number.

CFDA 93.847: Diabetes, Digestive, and Kidney Diseases Extramural Research is the sole CFDA number assigned to NIDDK’s extramural research programs and will be used in all future Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs). CFDA numbers 93.848 and 93.849 have been deleted and are no longer in use. CFDA numbers 93.848 and 93.849 are being phased out and will be replaced by the new consolidated number, 93.847, with the issuance of new funding opportunity announcements.  Institutions may continue to use the prior numbers when submitting existing electronic SF424 (R&R) application packages.  For paper PHS 398 applications, institution officials should use the new consolidated number, 93.847, in the appropriate field.
