TRWG Leadership

Ernest T. Hawk, M.D., M.P.H., was appointed by NCI Director Andrew von Eschenbach, M.D., to serve as the TRWG co-chair from NCI. Dr. Hawk has been active in translational research programs at the institute for more than 10 years. He has a distinguished clinical research career, and currently serves as director of NCI's Office of Centers, Training and Resources.

Lynn M. Matrisian, Ph.D., Ingram Distinguished Professor and Chair of Cancer Biology at Vanderbilt University, is a TRWG co-chair. She has served as president of the American Association for Cancer Research.

William G. Nelson, M.D., Ph.D., Professor of Oncology, Urology, Pharmacology, Medicine and Pathology at Johns Hopkins University, is a TRWG co-chair. He serves as Associate Director of Translational Research at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center in Baltimore.
