Overview
This program supports research using methods of genetic epidemiology to identify genetic, biological and environmental risk factors underlying the etiology of mental disorders and their underlying phenotypic components.
Areas of Emphasis
- Population based sampling and sub-groups
- Extended and vertical family studies to identify phenotypes, gene environment interactions and biomarkers
- Longitudinal cohort studies of the molecular basis for risk factors and disease phenotypes
- Co-morbid mental and physical disorders
