Process Name Burning Natural Polymers
Description Carbon monoxide is the most important toxic gas released from the combustion of natural polymers. [Occup Med 1993 Jul-Sep;8(3):533-47] Also released are hydrogen cyanide from silk, cotton, and wool; nitrogen oxides from cotton and nylon; also acrolein and acetic acid from wood. [Sullivan, Table 50.1; Rom, p. 478]
