WASHINGTON – Rep. Dennis Cardoza, D-Merced, is launching a new cable show in an effort to keep constituents informed about important issues before Congress.
"Capitol View with Congressman Dennis Cardoza" features lawmakers and other guests who discuss national issues that are of interest to the Central Valley. A new edition of the 30-minute show will be taped monthly in Washington and will run weekly on Comcast public access stations in Stockton, Modesto, and Merced. "It’s not a fancy production, but I think that anyone who watches will learn something," Cardoza said. "I look forward to bringing Washington to the Valley and receiving feedback from constituents who see the show." Guests for the first edition of Capitol View are Rep. Ike Skelton, D-MO, ranking member of the House Armed Services Committee, and Sharon Schuchert of Stanislaus County Child Welfare Services. Future shows will include other local guests and senior members of the House Agriculture and Homeland Security committees. Capitol View will air weekly on the following dates and channels: Comcast Stockton: Wednesday, 8:30 p.m., Channel 95 Comcast Modesto: Monday, 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, 4:30 p.m., Saturday, 2:30 p.m., Channel 7 or 8 (Stanislaus County residents outside of the Comcast area can watch Charter Channel 19) Comcast Merced: Tuesday, 8:30 p.m., Channel 11
