WASHINGTON – After attending a detailed briefing by 9/11 Commission Chair Thomas Keane and Vice Chair Lee Hamilton, Rep. Dennis Cardoza, D-Merced, today urged Congress to adopt all of the Commission’s recommendations and called for the House of Representatives to reconvene immediately. “The chair and vice chair of this bipartisan commission were both emphatic and persuasive in their advocacy for the full implementation of their report, and I wholeheartedly concur,” said Cardoza, who returned to “Congress must act quickly on these recommendations and address them in a bipartisan fashion. These issues are too serious to just put off until is it convenient for Congress to address them. We know that we were not as safe as we should have been on 9/11.
