NET-PD is a large multi-faceted effort to find drugs to slow the progression of Parkinson's disease. The first studies tested several compounds; one of these is now being evaluated in a larger clinical trial. Like all U.S. clinical trials, NET-PD is carefully designed to answer questions about new drugs while safeguarding the health of volunteers.
How is NET-PD different from other studies?
Most PD treatment clinical trials focus on treating the symptoms of the disease. NET-PD evaluates agents that have the potential to slow the progression of PD.
