Hubble Space Telescope was launched into space in 1990. Since that time, Hubble has tremendously advanced our understanding of the universe – from the discovery of the how old our universe is (about 13 to 14 billion years) to the discovery of dark matter to a better understanding of the evolution of galaxies.

NASA SEEKS CONCEPT PROPOSALS FOR FUTURE MOON LANDER

On Wednesday, NASA issued a request for proposals for concept definition and requirements analysis support for the Altair lunar lander. Proposals are due to NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston by 2 p.m. CST on Feb. 27.

Haste Makes Waste

Yesterday the House Appropriations Committee considered the hastily-written economic stimulus bill, which includes $518.7 billion in new spending and establishes 32 new government programs. As reported by the The Washington Post, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) points out that only $136 billion of infrastructure funding will be spent before October 1, 2010.

Mars Rovers: Five Successful Years

While originally projected to be a three-month mission, Mars Exploration Rovers Spirit and Opportunity are celebrating five years of being on the surface of the red planet this month. The Spirit landed on January 3, 2004 and the Opportunity landed on January 24, 2004.
