Ravi Basavappa, Ph.D.

Dr. Basavappa joined NIH in 2004 as a Program Director in the Division of Cell Biology and Biophysics at National Institute of General Medical Sciences. His portfolios include “biophysical properties of proteins” and “viral attachment, assembly, fusion, and budding”. He also is serving as the AIDS Coordinator for NIGMS. Prior to joining NIH, he was Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of Rochester. His background is in structural biology.
