Data Access
The TARGET Initiative is producing large volumes of genomic data from high risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and neuroblastoma. Because patient privacy protection is the highest priority and of the utmost concern to NCI and TARGET collaborators, human subjects protection and data access policies are being implemented to protect the privacy and confidentiality of patient data.
Data generated from TARGET are available in two tiers.
- Open-access tier: contains information that is deemed to present minimal risk of participant re-identification. Most of the TARGET data are included in the open-access tier, but not patient identifiers. Read more
- Controlled-access tier: contains broader demographic, clinical and genotypic information. Data does not directly contain patient identifiers. Read more
Note: The TARGET Data Portal currently includes open-access tier data for ALL. Controlled-access data will be available in March 2009.
