What is the Community of Genetics Educators?

The "Community of Genetic Educators" website is a place for genetic educators to meet, collaborate, share and learn. Resources here will benefit K-12, collegiate, formal and informal biology and genetics educators.

Once you register, you will be able to search and find helpful resources submitted to CoGE by other educators and by professionals
at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

How do I use it to help in teaching genetics?

Use this website to find resources, recommend resources, and to learn from other educators in similar situations.  Find and email another member, submit helpful "lessons learned" and other resources. Join a discussion board. Listen to talks by leading researchers that will help you and your students.

Here you can also work with the
education team at NHGRI to review and refine learning tools for students and the general public. These online reviews of learning tools are designed to give your students a real-world learning experience. All without having to leave your classroom, or travel to NIH.

It's Free and Available to You Every Hour of Every Day

CoGE will offer early and useful educational opportunities for educators, and alert members to new and upcoming resources of value. Register now, and come back often. The CoGE is a free service to educators as part of the NHGRI educational outreach mission to teachers in all aspects of genetics and genomics education.
