CoGE Policies on Content, Links, Copyright, Images, and Illustrations:

Much of the text appearing on CoGE was either prepared by employees of the United States Government as part of their official duties (and therefore is not subject to copyright), or was prepared under contracts with the United States Government that give NHGRI the right to place the text into the public domain.

The same is true of most publications available for downloading from CoGE. You may freely copy that material. Please use the following credit: "Courtesy: National Human Genome Research Institute."

A limited amount of copyrighted text - usually scientific publications resulting from NIH activities - may be provided on CoGE from time to time with the permission of the copyright holder. Web site users are free to view and print the documents. NHGRI cannot grant permission for other uses of the copyrighted material and publication on CoGE and does not alter the copyright holder’s rights.
