Legislature Considers New Electronic Medical Records Law to Ensure Patient Privacy
(Santa Fe) – The New Mexico Legislature is considering an electronic medical record initiative of Governor Bill Richardson’s that would protect patients’ privacy. Sen. Peter Wirth introduced SB 278, the Electronic Medical Records Act that would require security and privacy protections associated with the use of electronic medical records. Legislature Considers Expanding Governor Initiative to Support Rural Providers
(Santa Fe) – The New Mexico Legislature is considering a bill that would expand the successful rural health tax credit program to more providers. Rep. Joni Gutierrez introduced HB 129, Rep. Rodolpho “Rudy” Martinez introduced HB 203 and Sen. Richard Martinez introduced SB 58. All the bills would make occupational therapists, physical therapists, social workers and speech-language pathologists eligible for a $3,000 tax credit. (Read More Spanish Version)
