Dear Khalid,

In general, the binary data in a single-file NIfTI-1.1 *.nii file is
stored starting at the offset location given by the 'vox_offset'
field in the header.

You can split a *.nii file into two files, *.hdr and *.img, using the
nifti_tool program. For example:

nifti_tool -copy_im -prefix xxx.hdr -infiles yyy.nii

will produce as output the files xxx.hdr and xxx.img. The file
xxx.img contains only the raw image data, all slices and time points
in one file. More complex options can be used to split the file into
finer pieces, if necessary.

nifti_tool is available from various sites, including the
afni.nimh.nih.gov web site as part of the AFNI package.
