Hi Cinly,

Email posting to this list is no longer allowed, I believe.

---

I would naturally prefer to refrain from investigating the
0.2 library, and stick to at least version 0.5.

---

Your description of what happens after the for loop is not
actually correct, for reasons that I stated in the 4 points
from my previous post. I'm not sure why you are tracing part
of one function's code for me, without addressing those points.
They even apply in the case of the 0.2 library.

---

It is trivial to add garbage to dim[] in a 3-D dataset using
nifti_tool, e.g.

nifti_tool -mod_hdr -infiles dset0.nii -prefix dset1.nii \
-mod_field dim '3 91 109 91 20 20 20 20'

So the 20s can be considered garbage left by a malloc. Upon
reading such a dataset, via either nifti_image_read() or
nifti_image_read_bricks(), the dimensions are not changed.

---

Perhaps it is worth setting the debug level to 3 or so, so
you can be more sure of what is happening in the library.
If you wanted to email such output to me, I would be happy to
comment.
