Kenneth M. Weiss, Ph.D. is
interested in the evolutionary processes responsible for the amount, nature,
and geographic distribution of genetic variation, and the role played by
population history (and culture). His
research concerns the relationship between this variation and the epidemiology
and distribution of complex traits, including diseases such as diabetes and
cardiovascular disease. There are many
issues that involve questions of environment, the degree to which genetic
variation determines such traits, the nature of inference in human genetics,
and the impact of these things on society.
