Making sure our nation’s roads and bridges are safe and well maintained is a top priority for me.  We learned a hard lesson last year when a bridge in Minnesota collapsed killing several people.  We must invest in infrastructure now to prevent future tragedies.

That’s why I supported an $8 billion infusion into the Highway Trust Fund when it came to the House floor for a vote.  This bill will transfer money from the general treasury to aid in federal and state highway projects.  It passed by a vote of 387-37 and it is now up to the Senate to act.
