Men and women fighting to defend our freedom abroad should not be left without a home when they return from serving. One of the most important responsibilities I have as a Member of the United States Congress is to ensure adequate support for and appreciation of our nation's veterans.

When the Homes for Heroes Act of 2008 came to the floor for a vote I supported it. This bill will ensure that veterans have access to housing programs provided by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, provide housing vouchers to homeless veterans, and will include veterans in public housing planning. This bill passed the House by a vote 412-9. It is now up to the Senate to act. Thank you for supporting our troops and veterans.
