Expanding Veteran’s Education Benefits

August 3, 2007

An education is one of the most significant investments someone can make, personally and professionally.  Congress should do all it can to make it easier for veterans and service members to pay tuition bills.

The Montgomery GI Bill for Life Act of 2007, H.R. 2247, would ensure that GI Bill benefits would not be taken away from veterans enrolled in college at the end of the existing ten year entitlement period.  I look forward to supporting this bill when it reaches the House floor for a vote.

The United States Congress can and should do more.  I will continue to fight for more education dollars coming out of Washington to help those in our armed forces and our veterans pay for education.
