Making sure our roads are safe is a top priority for me. Everyone on the road, especially truckers, should be able to speak English.  Federal law requires commercial truckers to speak enough English to talk to police and read road signs. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case.

Starting next year, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration will ban interpreters from helping those taking the driving portion of the license exam.  Hopefully, this will prevent truck drivers who don’t speak English from driving in this country.
