Increasing Access for Americans with Disabilities

July 7, 2008

Since the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law in 1990, public places are more accessible to everyone and folks with disabilities have gained important rights.  This progress should not be turned back.  As a Member of the House, I have a long history of working for people who face disabilities everyday.

That’s why I voted for the ADA Amendments Act which passed the House by a vote of 402-17. This bill is a bipartisan effort to help improve the lives of Americans who live with disabilities.
