WASHINGTON, D.C. -- U.S. Rep. Lincoln Davis (TN-4) has introduced legislation, H.Con.Res.400, that calls for the United States flag flown over the U.S. Capitol to be lowered to half-staff one day each month in honor of the brave American men and women who have lost their lives in military conflicts.

"Over one million Americans have paid the ultimate price to protect our country, its citizens, and our ideals since the time of the American Revolution," Davis said. "This gesture, while small, hopefully honors the sacrifices that brave American men and women have made to protect our Nation and our freedom in the spirit of patriotism."
