Spratt Salutes Volunteers Caring for Military Families | ||
WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. John Spratt (D-SC) voted for a resolution to recognize and commend all volunteers who provide support to the families and children of members of the armed forces. “Right now, there are just over a million children who are the sons or daughters of members of the armed forces, and more than a third are under the age of five,” said Spratt. “Volunteers and service organizations are working around the clock to help them maintain as normal a life as possible. It’s important to commend them for their work.” Spratt is a senior member on the Armed Services Committee. The resolution he supported passed the House on September 5. ###
