White House Tours

If you reside in South Carolina's 5th Congressional District, my office can assit you with White House tour tickets.

The White House requires a minimum group size of 10 people (if your group consists of less than 10 people, we will do our best to form a group of 10 or more people). Group tour applications will be accepted up to six months in advance. For security reasons, a tour cannot be arranged without a minimum of 40 days notice.

Please be advised that our office only places the request for your tour. The White House makes all decisions about the time and date and retains the right to accept or deny the tour. You improve your chances of receiving a tour the earlier you send in your request. You will not receive a response from us until 30 days (at the earliest) prior to the tour.

Please Note:

•  Tours run approximately 45 minutes and go from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

•  Security Information: If the White House does confirm your tour, we will contact you at that time and will need the personal information of everyone scheduled to go on the tour (social security number, date of birth, full name, etc.). Please have that information available.

•  All guests 15 years of age or older will be required to show photo identification with information exactly matching the name previously submitted for clearance. Individuals whose identification does not exactly match the name or data cleared for entry may be denied admittance.

•  If you have special circumstances, please let us know when you request your tour . This includes hearing impaired individuals or anyone who may need a wheelchair or a walker, or anyone with children less than one year of age. You may not bring your strollers or wheelchairs on the tour. The White House does have wheelchairs that you may request.

•  Groups should arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled tour time. Late arrivals may not be accommodated.

•  Prohibited items include, but are not limited to, the following: handbags, bookbags, backpacks, purses, food and beverages of any kind, strollers, cameras, video recorders or any type of recording device, tobacco products, personal grooming items (make up, hair brush or comb, lip or hand lotions, etc.), any pointed objects (pens, knitting needles, etc.), aerosol containers, guns, ammunition, fireworks, electric stun guns, mace, martial arts weapons, or knives of any size.
