CTMS Steering Committee Inaugural Meeting – March 7, 2007
The Clinical Trials Management Systems (CTMS) Workspace recently convened the inaugural meeting of the CTMS Steering Committee on March 7, 2007 in Rockville, Maryland. The CTMS Steering Committee will provide strategic guidance and direction to Booz Allen Hamilton on all clinical trials activities in the caBIG™ program. The Committee brings together a range of stakeholders from the cancer research community, including experts in the conduct of cancer clinical trials and clinical research informatics, and represents a variety of groups including cancer centers, CCOPs, cooperative groups, industry, patient advocacy, and SPOREs. During the meeting, Committee members were presented with an overview of the caBIG™ program and the CTMS Workspace, the CTWG Informatics Initiatives, and the overall mission, roles and responsibilities of the Steering Committee. The members participated in facilitated discussions that focused on the CTWG Informatics Initiatives from both clinical trialist and informaticist perspectives. This meeting marked an important milestone in the caBIG™ program and in the National Cancer Institute's clinical trials initiatives.
