caBIG™ Imaging Program Participation at RSNA 2006

The National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid (caBIG™) has launched multiple informatics projects within the past year involving a broad spectrum of the imaging community, and was able to share their progress at the recent 2006 conference of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) in Chicago. This annual conference brings in over 60,000 attendees, many of whom were able to hear about caBIG™ for the first time.

One of the highlights of RSNA 2006 was a visit by Dr. John Niederhuber, Director of NCI, Dr. Ken Buetow, Associate Director of NCI and Director of the caBIG™ program, and Dr. Daniel Sullivan, director of NCI’s Cancer Imaging Program. They were given a tour of some of the key caBIG™ Imaging demonstrations. Dr. Niederhuber expressed enthusiasm for the substantive progress demonstrated in the caBIG™ program.
