Description: |
Mutant plap gene with A to G transition mutation in a spice acceptor site resulting in a non-functional plap gene product. The transgenic mouse reports G to A transition mutations by reverting the plap transgene to wildtype. Histological assay of heat stable alkaline phosphatase activity detects G to A transition mutations in all tissues of the animal. Useful for detecting mutation distribution resulting from genetic defects and environmental exposure to mutagens. |
