Strain Description: This is a KO of exon 1 beta of p19Arf (the p19Arf-specific KO), an important tumor suppressor gene. This allele is similar to a p19Arf KO made by the Sherr lab (Cdkn2atm1Cjs), except this KO deletes the selectable marker (Neo). These animals may be slightly less tumor prone than the Sherr KO, and do not overexpress p16Ink4a (the other product of the Ink4a/Arf locus). These animals were made in a manner identical to the p16Ink4a-specific KO available from the MMHCC, and serve as useful comparison to that strain.
