Strain Description: The rat TH promoter directs expression of the human MYCN transgene to migrating cells of the neural crest during early development. Expression was found in the adrenal gland with marginal expression in brain, heart, testes and spleen. Mice carrying this transgene are predisposed to neuroblastoma and show many of the features of the human childhood disease. Genomic analysis of tumors have shown allelic imbalance in chromosomal regions orthologous to those found in human neuroblastoma.
