These mice carry a conditional cre recombinase (Cre-ERT2) allele targeted to the ubiquitously expressed ROSA26 locus (Thumpd3). The estrogen receptor T2 (ERT2) moiety fused to cre retains the recombinase in the cytosol until tamoxifen administration releases this inhibition, thus permitting inducible recombination of LoxP sites. |
