Strain
Description: |
This strain carries a conditional allele of Apc with two LoxP sites flanking exon14 (a FRT-flanked neomycin resistance cassette was removed by FLP-mediated recombination). Homozygous mice are phenotypically normal and fertile. These animals can be used for tissue-specific ablation of Apc function. Deletion of exon 14 by cre-mediated recombination leads to expression of a truncated Apc protein of 605 amino acid residues (aa), of which the first 580 aa correspond to the normal protein. |
