Description: |
This strain carries a null mutation in the DNA mismatch repair gene Mlh1. Cells from mice homozygous for this mutation are incapable of repairing single-nucleotide and insertion/deletion mismatches. Homozygous males have no detectable mature sperm and are sterile. Homozygous female mice have normal estrous cycles but are also sterile. Both males and females exhibit normal mating behavior. Heterozygous and homozygous mice show cancer susceptibility. |
