Many older adults in the area enjoy a higher quality of life thanks to Dr. Deane’s tireless advocacy on health care issues such as Medicare and Medicaid funding, prescription drug assistance, and in-home medical care.

“Dr. Deane’s thoughtful, reasoned approach to advocacy and his ability to expertly communicate with legislators on behalf of elderly Americans has produced tangible benefits for older adults in West Michigan,” said Congressman Ehlers. “His selfless work has resulted in more affordable health care for many people less fortunate than he. I am proud to recognize Dr. Deane with the Congressional Medal of Merit for Seniors for his dedication to quality affordable health care for elderly people.”

Dr. Frederick Deane is involved in several leadership roles, including positions with the Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan, the Gerontology Network, Michigan Senior Advocates Council, the Alliance for Health, and the Kent County Medical Society.
