Goal
The goal of the workshop is to evaluate the state of science of bioinformatics and determine how it may be used for assisting early cancer detection, risk assessment, and risk reduction. The objectives of the workshop include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Evaluate the applicability of different artificial intelligence and machine learning tools in data mining relating to cancer prevention
- Discuss tools for retrieving, visualizing, and analyzing data.
- Identify usefulness of different bioinformatic tools in assessing cancer risk.
- Define areas of bioinformatics needing further refinement or development.
- Consider tools enabling scientists to perform in silico experiments and test them in the laboratory.
- Translate techniques from a research to a clinical setting.
