Abstract: This introduction to LC/MS will cover a discussion of instrumentation, modes of ionization, and mechanisms of ion detection. Particular attention will be given to electrospray ionization and how this ionization process is used to produce peptide and protein ions. Various protein/peptide applications will be examined to demonstrate the type of information that can be obtained from analysis by LC/MS.
